I'm in the air on Palin, but there is a pretty big different in looking at some notes during a question as opposed to needing to look at a teleprompter at all times.

I think that your mistake is assuming that intelligence is a good predictor of presidential aptitude. I think realistically, Obama is a smart dude, just not a good president.

What evidence do you have of his great intelligence?

My granddaughter that's in grade school can pronounce corpsman. Correctly.

I keep reading about Obama's immense intelligence yet I see no evidence of it. No school records, nothing.

I wonder how he'd do if every media outlet in the USA was trying to trip him up and had an agenda against him like they have with Sarah Palin? He's doing pretty poorly with them trying to cover for him.

Thanks for responding as you did.

As far as I know your life doesn't effect those of an entire world and doesn't influence what others think other then those in your circle of friends. Should you continue to smoke you are influencing only the perception of those around you....not to mention your and their health.

I found after quitting smoking that I was actually weak because of it and was allowing others to control me:

Financially: I was the slave of those that set the prices for Marlboro Reds in a box and Copenhagen in a can.

Destinations: I was controlled by what I would do or where I would go dependent upon my ability to smoke once there.

Appeal to others: I had to wonder if my smokers breath or tobacco between my teeth would offend others.

Example: I was a leader of soldiers in an environment that was looking down towards smoking.

Obama is supposed to be a leader without vices. Apparently he has one...what others has he?

He was a graduate of Columbia and later Harvard law school for starters. Two very renowned institutions of higher learning in this country.

Pretty impressive.

But in the end, I don't think the media has much to do with how Obama and Palin express themselves. Their words are a matter of record, whether given in a prepared speech or given extemporaneously. No comparison.
