Default Rep. John Murtha dies at 77

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1

U.S. Rep. John Murtha, an influential critic of the Iraq War whose congressional career was shadowed by questions about his ethics, died Monday. He was 77.

The Pennsylvania Democrat had been suffering complications from gallbladder surgery. He died at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., spokesman Matthew Mazonkey said.

Was juuuuust reading that online, in fact. Looks like another seat the dems will have to fight for.

Dude made a name for himself with ABSCAM and the war stuff.

It's just too bad that he tried to have us pull out immediately and lost that vote by a huge margin. I think his later dealings in politics clouded his overall body of work as a politician.

Had to happen sooner or later. Even the Haditha Marines have enough class to say rip, no doubt. Unfortunately that's more class than Mr. Murtha ever showed in recent years.

RIP John Murtha.

I'm trying.

I don't think I have anything good to say about Murtha.

PA... I don't know the succession rules. Does the Guv appoint someone, and how long do they serve?

RIP John Murtha.

Say what you will about the man, but he once called his constituents (paraphrasing) inbred retards, and he got reelected. That takes balls of steel.

The votes were bought and paid for by the taxpayers. Murtha was "great" at bringing home the pork.

Not exactly.

Like Vegas noted, Murtha brought home loads of pork.

Doubtful anybody was going to turn that down just cuz he called them inbreds.

They didn't want to make a liar of their congressman.

Having said that, my level of grief for a deceased politician matches his/her level of grief for the aborted unborn.

I wonder if Barack Obama will talk about Murtha's time as a member of the Marine Corpse.

That's about all he'll talk about.

He sure won't talk about the beatdown he received for that cut-and-run vote.

If he phrases it that way it would be pretty morbid.

Imagine if GW Bush made a slip like that - or Dan Quayle!!!!!!!

Barry would get a pass and soothing from the media.

He never did apologize to the Haditha Marines that he smeared, either.

I'd say that he'd get a chance to do so in the next life. . .but much like Ted Kennedy and Mary Jo Kopechne, I don't think they're going to be crossing paths in the hereafter, what with being sent to two different locales and everything.
