Not sure what legistation was past but it would appear that things have changed for the Military retiree.
I got a notice in the mail discribing a tax change with my retirement check. When I called and asked about it I was told that legistation had been passed that moved me to a new tax bracket allowing me to pocket $38 more a month from my retirement check.
Being a divorced man with no dependants/exemptions I have always payed through the nose tax wise. Basic practice was if I were to work two overtimes in a pay period might as well try to get a third to pay the tax.
I haven't been able to and don't intend to look up what caused the change or inquire what it will do to me at tax time next year. I will simply pocket the $38 and worry about that tax time next year.
