There's a small casino here in town that's running a promotion. They will give a Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun to anyone who hits two royal flushes in 30 days. It's a great promotion. Lots of publicity on that one. They're getting a lot more traffic than usual.

I hit one Royal in my life. Of course, I ended up in the Tower of London, but that's a story for another day.

That's pretty funny.
I should add that a royals occurs once in around 40,000 hands of video poker. The odds change somewhat depending on the game. Most players get about 600-800 hands an hour. Payouts are typically between 93-100% depending on paytable and skill level.

I love watching the old broads swoop in like vultures when the noob gambler gets done flushing their money down a machine...

Those old broads mostly flush more money. A cycle on a machine is based on infinite play. Each button push is an independent trial. When someone loses a bunch of money in a specific machine, the machine doesn't become due to pay. That's a common myth that is good for the gaming industry.

Really?
Sh*t...I used to watch my bud play red/white/blue all the time...and without fail, if you kept playing it would pay out a triple 7...It was just a determination of how much you had to sink before you got some back.
IE...If the jackpot was 80 bucks on $3 per...He'd have it down to science where you'd be in a range of 3 bucks to 160 bucks sunk to get that 80 bucks...and it happened every time...He never sunk in more than 160...(double the pot)...and he would play it religiously while I would sit back and say "Dude...It's time for the buffet now...The only real reason I'm here"
Good times.

The gaming commissions and gaming manufacturers go to great lengths to ensure that each button push (or handle pull) is an independent trial. I have hit two royals at one machine in a 4 hour session, for instance. There is no such thing as a due machine or a machine that's had all the jackpots taken out.
It's the same thing with table games. One of the great innovations in roulette is the board where they show the results of the past several spins. People bet based on past results. If the past 5 spins went black, people will bet red. The odds on any game never change.

Of course they do...What is the odds of flipping heads 10 times in a row?
Yeah, each individual spin in 50/50...But the odds of 10 in a row? Phenomenal.

People can't get the independent trial thing through their heads. Which is a large reason why I have a job.

No...The independent trial isn't what stops them...Their pocketbook does...Or you just keep doubling the bet...
This is why those with money win more often than not...and schlubs like me don't gamble...LOL

BTW, betting in that manner is half the fun...The odds are stacked against you no matter what...and to claim that betting on red cuz 5 blacks went in a row or just betting black "because" is the same bet.
Just don't become an addict and have fun...Kind of easy...
Still...I'd love someone to show me a roulette sign that has 10 or more blacks in a row...Extremely rare.

There is a strength of mind that comes with a backing of pocketbook...
Do you discount the power of confidence when it comes to money? No...No you don't.

When it comes to gambling? Not at all. When I go to the Las Vegas airport, there are plenty of limo drivers waiting for the high rollers. They take people to the casino where they have a luxury suite ready. Do you think they give away "free" limo rides, suites, gifts, food, etc. for people who are confident that they will win money?

Prostitution is illegal in Clark County. No casino would risk their very lucrative gaming license to supply hookers to a customer.

I thought we were in the airport...and if I had a dollar for every hooker I saw shimmy her ass up a hotel/casino elevator when I visited...Sh*t...I'd be able to bet on black 27 times in a row after 8 straight reds. ;)

They should be giving out a S & W Revolver. They're not known for their 9 mm's.

Meanwile, at the Palms, they're sitting there in plain view at the bars. You can totally tell they're 'working girls' cuz what woman would sit there alone, dressed to kill while rubber necking to see who she can approach....and the bartenders are there keeping watch over the girls making sure nobody messes with 'em.
Something tells me the Maloof bro's play the rules in Vegas a little loose, if ya know what i mean.

I didn't say that prostitution doesn't exist in Clark County. I said it's illegal. I'm quite sure they exist in Jiddy's town as well. But as I said before, no casino would risk their gaming license by getting a hooker for a client.
