I'm sorry to hear that he had died at such a young age by today's standards, but I was never a fan. When he stuck to teaching the Bible, he was a pretty decent preacher. I don't personally think he should have gotten even 1% in politics as much as he did. I often (not always) agreed with his political stands but never thought it was his place to go there.

I never liked him too much either. I respected that he stood up for what he believed him and spoke his mind, but he became a nuisance for a Christian conservative like myself, at times.

He's like Coulter and Robertson, in the sense that he's a lightning rod for criticism, and sometimes hurts the Religious Right cause by making obscene remarks.

He did leave an impressive legacy, and I respect his beliefs

I would never blame the commander-in-chief of our army for his responsibilities regarding one of the largest attacks on mainland soil in history. I would blame Rex Grossman.

Yes, yes it is. Since he was President when it happens, it at the least makes more sense than blaming it on homosexuals.

Yes, I am trying to give this guy a bit of respect in death, but it is hard. The hate he had was so unlike what he supposedly believed in.
