My wife bought this thursday, since I live in IL it can't be picked up until Monday.

http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p126/Maalox_bucket/XDM/IMG_3178.jpg

16 round clip of .40 caliber plus one in the barrel = 17 rounds. I already have ordered 2 new magazine base clips which will increase that total to 21.

Nice. I'm going to a gun show in a couple of hours. I may pick up a small rifle.

I'm a marksman, have head shot a snake before. My wife is also an excellent shot.
IL has been trying to ban these guns for years, just getting mine while I can.

If nothing else breaks that I have to spend money on I may buy another.

We were talking about rifles today at the golf course. I mentioned a .308 caliber, they were pushing me towards 30-.06.

I just want a nice high powered rifle, not sure which caliber to buy. I helped Dad scope in his .270 and it was a nice piece.

I'm not sure what to buy for a long range shot at an elk or a deer.

My dad has a .308. Nice gun. He's hunted with it once in Wyoming. The "once" part is because he wasn't in good enough shape to ever go back and hunt in Wyoming again. He did get a mule deer, though.

Planning a trip out West to hunt?

I shot a clay pidgeon with a .357, once.

Yup. It was launched with one of those mobile sling-type ground launchers by a friend of mine and we waited till it peeked then i took a turn after he missed with his shot gun. Hit it on my third shot.

Have you seen the 19+1 9mm XMD? Save the stopping power argument. :)

The F2000 NATO Bullpup?

Seen both.

I got the .40 because I can shoot it as .40 naturally, but I can also buy a conversion barrel and shoot it as 9 mm if I choose to. I couldn't have went the other way.

I liked the FN Five Seven tactical also but see no need to pay over a grand for a pistol.

I don't need an assault rifle so the F2000 is just something cool for me to look at and read about.

I've come across a few interesting videos on the xd forum in regards to bump firing. I'd never heard of this before. One guy puts his thumb behind the trigger, another uses a rubber band.

Got my xdm today and it's one sweet piece of machinery. Too cold to shoot it and that pisses me off.

It is beautiful.

I've got some family that is friends with a guy in Jackson Hole, WY, and they go out there pretty frequently for mule deer.

He used to go on the fishing trip to Canada with the group. He was along the first two years I went and had some pretty good stories about hunting. He hunts whatever he can shoot and when he's not hunting, he travels around for shooting competitions.

Pretty shitty life, it sounded. Lives at the base of a ski hill, rents his upstairs out to ski-season workers ($$$$) and that's about it. Hunts and shoots. And when he gets bored, goes fishing with the guys. He somehow came into some money, either from his parents or when his brother died. Maybe he does other shit on the side, but he'd go up in the mountains for 2 weeks just to scout for hunting.

Never heard him talk about golf.

I'd imagine he'd consider that a pussy sport. Why hit a ball when you can shoot something with a high powered rifle?

His fake words, not mine.

There's about 80% of me that desires to be able to live that kind of life.

It's the other 20% that makes me realize that I need to support my family.

I think I'm done for a while now. Bought this today
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/images/XD9801HCSP06.jpg

More of a conceal type piece. 9 mm, 3 inch barrel. Comes with a 10 round clip when you want it small, and a 16 round clip with a grip extension when you don't care.

Better size for my wife to shoot if she decides to go shooting with me. I've always wanted a 9mm anyway, just because I didn't have one.

Now the gun money is spent, neither Obama nor Chicago can take these hicap weapons from me, so I'm good to go. Thinking about trying some USPSA so I need more magazines for the semi autos I have, and ammunition of course, and probably a few more holsters,
but outside of that I've promised myself not to buy anything else.

That's one sweet piece of machinery, Ryr.

On Xmas Eve, we were over my friend's parent's house and went out to the garage to look at his dad's gun collection in his safe.

His dad just bought an M-1 (completely reconditioned and good as new). Now we've just got to find a place to fire it at....outdoor range or something.

$499 plus outrageous IL tax. $542.49

No doubt cheaper and easier to find in your area, plus you could get a concealed carry permit for it.

I've been looking into the reloader thing and I'm not sure if I'll be able to justify it by shooting enough.

I got your joke though. My wife's a little different than most when it comes to guns.
I told her the new sub compact would be good to carry hidden but it's hard to beat our SW model 36. She says "yeah but that's mine".
