Wow, I don't know. Is being a pharmacist considered private practice?
to refuse the sale of Birth Control? Specifically morning after pill?
Yes, but they should have to advertise it, and there must be an alternative available in close proximity.

I say it's not their right to deny what to sell if it's legal.
if you dont want to sell it, dont be in that area of work.

Yes....as well as chocolate bars....and soda....and tissue paper....and baseball cards....
I would just let the free market get him...Watch his face get red when all his pharmacist buddies are making a killing off that which he chooses not to sell....Greed will overcome and he'll be back on the gravy train baby!
"MORNING PILLS FOR EVERYONE SALE"
"Free rooms provided and the pills waiting for you just moments after you come out!!!"

I am thinking more along the lines of a "Christian Pharmacist". As long as there are alternatives nearby they can.
You don't buy pork at a Jewish Deli.

There's plenty of drug stores elsewhere to fill that order.
You can't force Sears & Robuck to stock a certain item.

No, you're wrong. The man isn't obligated to do a damn thing. This is the United States of America.
All he has to do is pay taxes, and die.
And possibly listen to people complain when he takes a moral stand with his own money and his own business which he no doubt busted his ass to get started and keep going.
He's not obligated to whore himself out, there are plenty of people willing to do that.

Some drugs help extend life and ease pain.
BC pills fill a need for convenience.
It's hardly an issue whether an independent pharmacist decides not to sell it due to his personal beliefs.
Life or death, maybe an issue. Birth control, not an issue. Talk about irony.

Does every pharmacy carry every prescribable drug?
Are we talking about morning after pill or regular old birth control?
Either way, if an independent pharmacist didn't want to carry it, so be it. Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, Walmart, Kmart, etc are all over the place and, unless privately owned, would probably carry the pill.
Joe Grandpa down the street in his corner drug store doesn't have to carry anything he feels doesn't need to be carried.

i am torn on this point truth be told....
there is part of me that says fuck it, it's my store (and i full agree with that logic)
and LSU, some area's it's BC in general, not just morning after...and some these reports are happening at major pharmacies, by the company pharmacist....

just do what my mom did, smoke a lot, that'll help keep the weight down
Ah...I see it's "specifically morning after"...
Again, don't see a problem with someone not wanting to sell it. It's their business...they'll suffer from lack of business if too many people are opposed to it. Perhaps check out the condom aisle or have a little discussion sooner with the doc about getting in "the pill".
If it's not available in your area, go to another area. If it's not available there, tough titties. As someone said, it's a convenience, not a necessity. And if not having the baby is a medical necessity, then hunker down and grab the coat hanger.

BC in general (rubbers, etc) can be bought almost anywhere I've been.
BC in pill form, I have no idea about.
I'm not of the mindset of forcing people or companies to do or to not do something, unless it's law. The law says the drug is safe, it does not say it must be available everywhere.

there are other drugs that are not available at all drug stores....Some drugs that are not widely prescribed have to be ordered by the pharmacy or you are sent somewhere else...they dont keep every drug in stock.

See, I always thought that Mr. Rosen couldn't get over the death of Belle. I mean, first he opens up a garage with the help of a immigrant named Chico Rodriguez, and then, after Chico's death, proceeds to stay in bed for 10 years, only to finally get up to offer his grandson up to a secretive candy factory owner for the promise of an everlasting Gobstopper.
