Gore's Message To Climate Change Skeptics (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/03/27/60minutes/main3974389.shtml)

Confronted by Stahl with the fact some prominent people, including the nation’s vice president, are not convinced that global warming is manmade, Gore responds: "You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat,” says Gore. "That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off," he tells Stahl.

The desperation is showing. It's now in the "Convince everyone by portraying naysayers as a few fringe idiots" Phase. Much like anyone who believes that life begins at conception or that gun control doesn't work.

I'm still waiting for one friggin' inch of beach loss. One inch and maybe I'll give the guy some credibility (and run for the hills...literally). But no...Our beaches are fully intact.

Nor would the National Parks Serviceman that I ask every year about the possibility.....Oh wait...He would...That's his job....Well, his job outside of showing me turtles once a year...

Right on the water (well...driving distance a couple miles). Only developed beaches erode...and are duly replaced with sand every year...Natural beaches have lost nothing. Not one centimeter.

those things erode too.

No...Actually over the past few years, the natural undeveloped beaches have gained land according to what I've been told. It ebbs and flows is my understanding...but there is nothing tangible to determine that there is any long-term erosion occurring...Quite the contrary.

Al needs more time, apparently.

then i guess i'm dreaming every time they freak out that the precious sea turtles are losing the land they use to lay their eggs.

That's due to development...Dumbasses are killing off the reefs...Like I said...My information comes from undeveloped land...That is a significant difference. They whine because of the RE whores...Not because of global warming.

Wonder why they never point out all of the species throughout the history of the world that vanished due to climactic changes? I guess species have only died since the combustion engine was invented.

Plus there was a thread in here about how some scientists have this elaborate system to measure the ocean temps.... and how the ocean temps haven't gone up.

They assume they are misreading the data.

Ocean temps going up = loss of beach. No loss of beach = no ocean temps going up. That's simply the expansion of the water due to warming.

Which makes their arguments futile. Most of the argument is that we're going to be flooded with the icecaps melting. They've been melting for a good number of years, and little is changing. I'd bet my life that the atmosphere will hold more moisture in a higher temperature climate. I'd also suspect that the crust might absorb and hold more water as temperature rises, but I'm less familiar with geology.

These are the same people who accuse Bush & Co. of waging a campaign of fear. The environmentalists whole argument is based on suppositions, hypotheses, and perhaps even selective data ignorance, in order to scare/guilt middle America into thinking that the world is going to end because of our lifestyle.

This kinda cycles back to one root belief that supports environmentalism, which is Socialism/Communism. Whether the chicken came before the egg, I'm not sure...I think the Socialist movement accepted the environmental argument as a way to advance profit control, and the line blurred between the two separate movements.

A sh*t ton of the icecaps have melted. Not one inch of loss of land. I keep telling folk...At this point, with all the icecap we've lost, I'd assume there would be some tangible results. There aren't. It seems so easy....But yet, it's not.

The hurricanes of 04/05 really put this sh*t on a centerstage (Two of which I lived through)...Over time, it will subside.

Gore took money from a Chinese front, er Buddhist Temple, in Los Angeles....this after he was as bad a student in college as Bush evidently was according to the MSM.

Expecting him to become the Nelson Mandela of Global Warming is a bit much.
