UNION, N.J. - Former Gov. James E. McGreevey is teaching ethics, law and leadership at Kean University.

The Star-Ledger of Newark reported the nation's first openly gay governor earns $17,500 and has been an executive in residence since Nov. 1.

When he was in office, McGreevey was often criticized for the appearance of ethical lapses.

"It seems to me, Jim McGreevey teaching law and ethics is a little bit like Doctor Kevorkian teaching health maintenance," state Republican chairman Tom Wilson told the newspaper.

The job requires McGreevey to work up to 15 hours a week and helps the 49-year-old accrue credits in the state pension system.

McGreevey said everyone is entitled to their own perspective and he didn't pick Kean because of the retirement benefits.

"For a university like us to have the ability of a former governor , for what we pay him , it's an opportunity for our students we shouldn't miss," Kean President Dawood Farahi said.

Some of the best cops are the people that have done the crimes...you have to be able to think like a criminal to stop a criminal...

Likewise, you have to be able to think like an unethical person to teach what's unethical.

Plus the fact that the state appointee to the DHS position, Golan Cipel, was not a U.S. Citizen, but a resident alien (he was an Israeli citizen) and actually should have been ruled inelgible for a position that required a federal security clearance (which only U.S. Citizens can obtain). Cipel did resign from the position after 8-months.

The relationship with his boy toy Cipel didn't last though. Cipel's lawyer threatened to file a sexual harrassment suit against McGreevey. McGreevey has an Australian boyfriend named O'Donnell now. If I remember right, his first wife was a resident alien from Canadian and his second, a resident alien from Portugal. Cipel is Israeli and O'Donnell, Australian. I guess he never liked the American type for a partner, male or female.:confused: Not that it has anything to do with the subject.;)
