Bush's spending proposal would achieve sizable savings by slowing the growth in the major health programs — Medicare for retirees and Medicaid for the poor. There the president will be asking for almost $200 billion in cuts over five years, about three times the savings he proposed last year.

I see our president has become a used car salesman. He's worked "savings" into actually spending more and getting less.

When Obama is president he'll talk about how much more we're going to get for less. He'll spray his magic fairy dust of change and we'll all live happily ever after.

Yeah, because talk of change is such a bad thing. Sorry man, but it is getting a little bit ridiculous. You make fun of the change ticket when you are supporting going:

1980-1988 Bush VP
1988-1992 Bush president
1992-2000 Clinton President
2000-2008 Bush President
2008-2016 Clinton President
Then Jebby boy?

C'mon! Seriously?

These jokers have had their chance. Out with them. We are looking at 36years of having one of these families in a very high position of power. That is not taking into account all the CIA years of Bush. Time for a change. Any president that we elect will have a tough time with a bad economy, a disaster of a war, and a fuckload of debt. Damn though man, seriously, the same old shit? If nothing else he has a different name.

BUT THE KENNEDYS! The attacks are getting more desperate as people are jumping on the Obamawagon. Some vague reference to a campaign slogan? BTW, anti-Kennedy crusader, she is trumping her Kennedy support on her page. Reeking of desperation homes.

All presidents talk like that.

This isn't a "talk"...This is a proposal.

If all presidents propose such legislation, then the concept of "conservative" is a fallacy.

Allow me to clarify....all presidents talk like that when they make their spending proposals. And I've said for several years that George W. Bush is no conservative.

Which candidate is? Which president was? (I think I know the answer to the second one....but humor me with whoever else you thought was truly conservative in you time on earth.)

Was? Barry Goldwater & Ronald Reagan,

I knew that answer.

You really think the explosion of state tax collection was something Ronnie intended with his downsizing of government? Because it was most definitely in the cards when he implemented such a plan....

I presume you would have voted for Fred with the old man as well?

I never saw him as anything near electable. I would have voted for him in November over any of the Democrats, but would have had a terrible time voting for him in the primary.
