I htink you missed sexual preference. I'm guessing the results would be much different.

The assumption you guys are making is that there conceivably could be people of a certain orientation or religion that align with party beliefs, when in most cases a person's traits or characteristics shape their political affiliation. I'd no less vote for straight liberal as I would a gay liberal. A gay conservative...there are cases, but typically their behavior lends them to side with a different party.

I can safely say I'd be a fiscal conservative if there was a cock in my ass or not. Just sayin'...

Right, but it does seem that people put more weight on their social views than their fiscal views.

I thought fiscal won 2 to 1 when we posted a poll on it....

Well there is only so many times you can write in Michael Landon, so the answers is yes

How uninformed and ignorant can a person be?
The correct statement would have been
I'm not voting for a black former muslim who belongs to a black seperatist church and is one of the most liberal people in the Senate and is also from Chicago just because he talks pretty.

I'd be interested to know how many people would vote against Obama's opponent in the general election because he's white.

Oh yes! End discrimination by condoning efforts that balance discrimination.
Brilliant! <sarc>
Joad, you could have saved a lot of typing, a whole bunch of "thought", and just worded your poll correctly such as:
Are you a bigot?
___ Yes
___ No

I know people who would answer that they are bigots.

That one never occurred to me. That'd have been a lot more poll choices, methinks! :o

All I truly want in a candidate is someone who is going to do their best to help the citizens of the USA. Someone who is going to listen to what we as a nation need.
I want someone who will make it tougher for jobs to be farmed out to the Orient and South of the Boarder. I'm unemployed right now and have about twenty bucks to my name right now. I'm doing damn near everything I can to find a job, but I can't. No jobs in my field, and I'm in too much debt to be able to go back to school and change fields.
Granted much of my situation is my own fault, but the lack of jobs in the economy is not my fault. I can't possibly remedy my situation if I can't even find a job.
I want someone who will take a look at our current healthcare system and work toward enacting some changes that will allow folks without insurance the ability to actually get real health problems addressed (and I'm not talking about a cold or a sprained ankle).
I want someone who is going to keep a lot more of our money on our shores and use it to help our people not a bunch of people who have been fighting for thousands of years and will be fighting for thousands of more years. Don't get me wrong I feel it's a good thing to help other countries, but we need to hep ourselves first. Also how much of that foreign aid actually gets appropriated as it's needed anyhow. There are so many corrupt figures in power, that money helps people, but not all the people it's intended to help.
If we can find a candidate to fit those characteristics, I will vote for that person in a heartbeat. If that's Hillary, Obama, McCain, Juliani, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, John Edwards, or even Tommy Thompson, I'll vote for him or her, black or white, Jew, Christian, or Muslim. I don't care, I just want a government I can believe in and be proud they represent me. Right now I can't stand this government. I love my country, but I absolutely HATE my leaders. I honestly feel they don't care about me or you as a tax paying citizen of the USA. That's downright sad!!!

Quite likely, he'll also be in a protected class (senior citizen).;)

This poll would have been more interesting had it been private. I fear people voted the way they did simply because they knew their vote would be seen by everyone else.
