That could have been the fish that swallowed Jonah.

Billions of years ago? You do know that story couldn't possibly be true, right? It is hyperbole.

I'm in a contrarian mood lately. There's every possibility its true. Is it likely, nope. Prove to me there's no was no whale with no digestive juices that could swallow a person whole 3000+ years ago. Maybe we just haven't uncovered that fossile, or said whale flew away, or the whale is currently living at an ocean depth and location we haven't found yet.
Its POSSIBLE.

With any whale, fish or shark alive today it is impossible. Any sea mammal really. Impossible. And to say there were fish without digestive juices? Humungous stretch.

Not that there needs to be an argument on this issue (the whole Jonah and the Whale being a non-fictional tale since it doesn't really hurt anyone to believe it as truth line for line I suppose), but why do you tend to believe a story someone wrote thousands and thousands of year's ago as 100% factual? It's clearly a very unlikely situation, and a story that sounds very fablesque, but since a Pope (or Bishop or whoever ultimately decided which stories to put into the Bible and which one's to leave out) decided to put it in a compilation of stories, you automatically believe it to be true to the word.
I don't know...I just don't understand how people can blindly follow something and never have any doubts or questions about it.
