Would anyone be interested in this...Ideas for play, scoring etc.? Keeping it fairly simple would be nice, as I'd probably be the one doing the scoring/tracking...

I think it's a fine idea. You put your "money" into your CDs and I'll put mine into tracking stock options and growth stocks. Then in 40 years you'll be eating Gravy Train while I'm riding the gravy train.
On a serious side, the options tracking would take far too much work. I'll be happy to post when I make a stock buy. You can laugh uncontrollably if/when it goes down and compare that to your CDs.

Still down a good chunk, eh? :p
Why would I include CD's in a stock market trading game? I guess we could give market rates to those that choose not to make actions in the market for the period at hand (weekly, I would presume)...but the point of a game is to be that f*cking guy on the monopoly board....not me.

I'm no longer down. How about that?
I figured since you like to bash markets that you'd like to compare fixed, insured, and boring stuff. That's all.

Oh yeah...We'd keep this thing simple...Start amount..Say 100k...Weekly winners...Overall leaders etc etc...Awards...First to double money trophy...First to a million trophy...etc etc...Head to head matchups weekly....
Good fun.

Well...If more people want to play your way, I could compromise...but a lot of what you want would take some considerable time to play out...Of course...Time we have.

Don't they have this on Yahoo, or something?
If its easy, I'm in. It'd be great if they have shorts. I could just short my own company and make a ton. I would be up 50% YTD on that plan.

If we can go by shorting past prices, I'll make a ton as well.

Dammit, where is this game? I would have made a killing so far this week on my "short my company" plan. Looks like I may be joining Pnk soon enough.
:(

I will play, if only to buy the socially conscious stocks and get my ass handed to me.

That's a myth. Companies that don't treat their employees well don't succeed.

I agree with this. Now excuse me while I attend a meeting of how to trick employees into thinking they are happy.

Companies that treat the environment poorly do!

Just tell them you have an open door policy and come up with great names for things. Call your benefits package (that includes high deductible health only coverage) something like Employee Super Rewards. Give them stock options at prices that will never realistically be realized and make sure you note it is part of Employee Super Star Awards. Tell three of your employees to organize a task force to make the workplace better with suggestions on how to implement them at no cost and post the results of the task force in the employee breakroom. Send an email out once a month and pick a random employee to call your company's 'Above and Beyond' performer. An optional $10 gift cert with the award is an added Super Star Award Perk.
All of this is very easy and low cost.

You forget the most important part: You must have your meeting to establish these employee...bonuses...in the Hamptons and have the kegs flowing and the panties falling.

That's not always the case. The companies that cut down trees are the biggest tree planters in the world, for instance.

That still does damage.
