Man do I hate Oprah.
sad thing is, she's probably most powerful and most respected leader of/in the black community (i think black leaders right now are a major problem)
for godsakes, PBS did a making of Oprah special.
she loves talking about her money, i hate that. She wont support anything unless she gets a check from it.

It's a woman's show, that's for sure. It's usually exceedingly diffiicult for me to watch it seriously when it's on. Wife never misses it.
"It's all about finding and being true to your spirit."
Most the content is fluff and occasionally informative. However, she also hsots psychics, mediums, and other folks pushing hokey, unfounded, unscientific "breakthroughs", e.g., "The Promise". She a great saleswoman, and can slant things her way for sure. Course, she's in charge of production too, I'm sure.
She's an entertainer that sometimes pretends to "educate" us.

i realize that, but she's made out to be more then she is, like she's this great leader in the community or great person becasue she gave out cars.

I knew about the book deal, but anyone who gets a chance to get their book endorsed by her signs up immediately. It's a guaranteed recipe for a best seller. Nobody would turn that down.
The cars were donated by the manufacturer (GM I think). Oprah neglected to mention that until it hit the news.

I got home early from work the other day and it was on. I noticed about 10 minutes of commercials in the last 15 minutes of the show. No joke.

i realize the book part and both benefit, but it makes me wonder if she really recommends it or shilling it....if i wrote a book and she wanted to shill it, i'd be ok..people are like sheep when it come to her.
i think she's just more succesful montel williams, not a great leader.....
i just cant stand all this oprah crap, her magazine, her book club, people act like she's a living saint..

Montel Williams? Man, that's a blast from high school's past.....Does that dude still have a show? I used to watch his show and Rikki back to back....If only I could have that precious time back...
Well we all agree that Oprah sucks. We have reached consensus on an issue.
