View Full Version : Interesting blog on SciAm
Not so much for the actual blog, but for the discussion that ensues:

The topic:
Would your favorite 17th, 18th or 19th-century scientist be a creationist today?

It's an interesting question. Newton and Maxwell are two my favorites that I know enough about to say that they would always be a Creationist. I don't know enough about some others to say with too much conviction either way.
A Caltech professor I know claims that Maxwell spoke to God directly. He says that's the only possible explanation for how he wrote his equations.

I think the blog writer made on good point...it's hard to say what any scientist would have believed before Darwin formulated the theory. As for speaking to God...well...
