Now, I'm sure Gonzo can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that as Commander in Chief, the President cannot be overruled unless the order he is giving is illegal.

Anyways, this article is all the rage right now amongst the conspiracy nuts. If they took time to look around, they would find this article on the same website.

I saw the first article somewhere else at the beginning of the week, well the same info not as developed but on a different site, and have just been watching and waiting for it to develop.

Regarding the first article, no the POTUS can give whatever order he wants. He didn't violate any previous executive order so long as he called for OBL 'dead or *alive*'. Can't help it if there were weapons in the same room as he was.

Now that all said, i don't doubt that he could have arranged for Panetta to 'give' the order and that way Obama could pardon him if needed at a later point, but i don't think that's how it happened.

On Maher's show last night, he did have a funny quip regarding OBL, Obama and the whole Bush-knocked-down-the-WTC nonsense.

He commented that the conspiracy theorists can wrap their heads around the idea that Bush knocked down the towers using remote control devices then hired people to plant fake birth certificates in Hawaii to embarrass the guy who eventually became POTUS and who killed the guy who didn't knock down the towers to cover up Bush's doings.

Everything that he reviled during his campaign is what brought the mission to be, I can see why he'd be hesitant.
He's managed to talk his way around it and not give credit to black intelligence procedures, even trotting Barbara Boxer out to say stupid shit.

Her hand over her mouth is telling me she was shocked at what she saw on the screen.

To me- especially in this case- seeing OBL get his head blown off would not have been a bad thing. But maybe she's never seen a picture of a dead person.

Obama looks, to me, like he's not so much PO'd as he is glad they finally got the bastard.
