These groups of people are saying you must follow their rule, in that the Qu'ran must be respected and threaten violence against those who are and are not responsible for the disrespect.
Are these people who are threatening violence, "extremists", and if they are would it not be beneficial to smoke them out of hiding, the "extremists" are the ones we are looking to vanquish?
Or is a devout Muslim just a book burning away from going bonkers?
Must we now regulate our speech and actions to capitulate to the echoes of a 7th century murdering child rapist?

I don't particularly want to incite people to violence.
I'm also not a fan of burning books of any kind.
However, certainly one has a right to do such things... even if it isn't the right thing to do.

Here's my take on it.....
Somebody has to *buy* the book- any book- that they want to burn.
Certainly it's their right' to burn whatever the bought, but *why* pay for something- thus aiding the pocketbook of that author- if you're sole reason for buying said item is to destroy it so that you can claim it's bad???
Does anybody else see the irony of these idiots contributing to the economic welfare of those they claim to dislike???
Even if the books were donated, *somebody* had to have paid for 'em.
I just don't see the wisdom in purchasing something just to burn it while claiming that it's bad for you.

Reminds me of a church in an article I read a couple weeks ago where they went to a local porn shop and bought out the guy's entire inventory so nobody could get a hold of the porn items. The guy must've felt he was in a uptopia after that. He's got the shortest inventory turnover ratio he's ever seen and he gets to take a mini vacation and shut down the store for a couple days while waiting for new inventory to ship.

Reminds me of liberals who support the buying of guns through some gov't-run buy-back program then burn/melt them jus so'z they won't be 'in circulation' anymore.

Is it stupid? Yes. Will it cause a huge public backlash? Yes. Is it being done only to rile people up? Maybe. Do the people who own the property in question have a right to do what they want with their property? Yes.

If anyone has any korans they want burned, send them to me.
I'll run a wet pack penetration test on them first with several calibers, then dry them out and set them on fire.

So that's YOUR conlusion? Because I didn't say it.
My conclusion is, he is an apologist, and cares more about not pissing other countries off then what's going on in this country.

I was talking to a girl about this, and she suggested that there was actually a constitutional question about doing this. This makes me want to burn a quran just out of principle.
