According to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, Matthew J. Marren, 22, of Pennsauken, drove to the Willingboro home that the airman, Jonathan Schrieken, 22, was renting at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Marren got out of his vehicle and shot Schrieken, who was outside the house, one time in the chest, using a small-caliber firearm. Marren then turned the gun on himself.
Schrieken was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was in critical condition Thursday, said Angel Lopez from the McGuire public affairs office. She said Marren was not affiliated with the military.

No, but whenever a military member is arrested for something it is all over the news. Of course the left controls the majority of the major news outlets so why does it not surprise that they would not really make such a big deal about one of our young military members coming home from serving his country faithfully and honorably and getting shot by some lunatic lefty? Marren's parents temporarily disconnected their home phone in New Jersey. An aunt told the Burlington County Times that the suicide notes described Marren's anger at the government and a desire to demonstrate that anger on a national holiday.

The original militia...who did they fight? The British, right? But it wasn't a land invasion, this was British territory!
The right to form a militia, in my opinion, is the most brilliant addition to the Constitution. The people who wrote that were the politicians, but they knew firsthand the tyranny an overzealous individual or group could level on a land. The militia isn't about fighting a foreign enemy invasion, but rather a way to lay an asswhoopin' on a government that has wronged the people.
One issue recently that has instigated some talk of militias is the illegal immigration debate. It's an issue where most of the politicians have ignored the will of the people. People are overwhelmingly against amnesty etc, and for a government to try to bully through legislation that pisses on that sentiment is a crime that deserves some form of punishment. Obviously banishment from office via the polls is the best way, but it's an issue that hits people (especially those immigrants who HAVE gone through the pain and toils of legally engaging the process) in the gut.

If you think the cases are synonymous in any way, please explain.
