I'd like to see the reaction if he told the same joke about Muslims.

I don't see where the Jew is greedy?
Seemed like a standard, set 'em up knock 'em down joke. Where's the offense?
BTW, he's retired military, so, as my conservative friends tell me, you can't accuse him of being racist.

I'm sure he has black friends, too.

Here's another case where a guy should have his nose rubbed in his apology like Trent Lott and George Allen did:
Jones apologizes for joke about Jewish vendor and Taliban
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.d3460a0b9b30c87fb6153d8428d54e9 2.5b1&show_article=1
US national security adviser James Jones said sorry Monday, after telling a joke about a Taliban militant and a Jewish vendor, to kick off a deadly serious keynote speech on Middle East peace.
The quip, which came at a moment of sharp US-Israeli tensions, was greeted with laughter and applause at the dinner, but the Anti-Defamation League, which campaigns against anti-Semitism, later described it as "inappropriate."
"I wish that I had not made this off-the-cuff joke at the top of my remarks, and I apologize to anyone who was offended by it," said Jones, following his remarks to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy last Wednesday.

Here's a case where we try to draw false parallels between two unrelated incidents.

No, because I don't see how anyone who wasn't a whiny victim mentality profiteer could be offended by that joke, unlike the incidents that you mention.

How could anyone have been offended by the incidents that I mentioned unless they had a whiny victim mentality? You're absolutely showing a double standard.

Like, if he had called new york city hymie town, then he would have deserved some serious finger-wagging or whatever it is that you want.

Yeah, a guy that makes his (very comfortable) living off of racism should get a pass when he uses a racial slur.

Well, George Allen referred to an Indian man as a Macaca, which as you know is a racial slur with roots in the macaque monkey. If you don't see how calling brown skin people monkeys wouldn't offend a reasonable person, I've got nothing for you.
I've got to go, but I can't even comprehend how someone could compare blaming the problems of the last 50 years on a lack of segregation to this. Truly mind boggling.

What's mind boggling to me is that you bought the Democratic party line version of the events and think it's unforgivable for a Republican to say something stupid but give a pass to a Democrat who tells a stupid joke that offends many people.

Please explain to me why that joke is offensive.

Here's a case where we try to draw false parallels between two unrelated incidents. Don't fret it, Tich.
It'd have been much funnier had George Carlin told the joke about the Jewish guy who picked up the tab for the luncheon, the Chinese guy who didn't own a laundry, the Mexican who wasn't drunk or lazy, or the black man who was always on time.
I know...stereotypes aren't always funny. Bummer this guy probably read The Merchant of Venice and took the whole damn thing as truth.

Although I can't down load the feed, I would have to agree. Political humor should be left to a professional satirist not those that give the professional their material.
