View Full Version : This Stupid Tillman "Situation"

Ok, so by now you've all undoubtly heard about the alleged "Tillman Coverup".

The below AP article (courtesy of yahoo) covers it:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070331/ap_on_re_us/tillman_friendly_fire_20

Now, all the news outlets and AP articles and such will tell you that this is a Bush coverup (aren't they all?) and that HE blatantly deceived America and the Tillman family.

But you will not find one word, not one single credible word or person that states that President Bush ever even knew the facts outlined below until they were made public. Gen Abizaid knew. Other Generals knew. But at no point has it been made truth that said Generals relayed such information to President Bush.

Just more leftist reporting. Blaming President Bush for something in which there is absolutely no credible proof that he was even aware of, let alone engaging in scandalous activity over. I know that you may say "you mean to tell me Abizaid knew and didn't tell Bush? BALONEY! NO WAY!" Uh, I don't mean to break your heart or anything, but there are more instances than I have pubic hairs in which top government or military personnel purposely hold information from the President so as to attempt to resolve the situation before he knows there was ever an issue in the first place. It's immoral and unethical, and I don't agree with the practice, but it happens. It could have happened in this case. I could be wrong, no doubt. It's in the realm of possibility that Abizaid did, in fact, warn the President with the information he had. But there's no proof of such a warning going any further than Abizaid.

The media, however, is attempting vigorously to mislead America into thinking Bush knew the instant Abizaid knew. There is NO proof of that.

Precisely.

I'm no fool. Bush and his Staff had made mistakes in the past 7 years. I reckon no man, even the President, is perfect. But the blame this man takes for some shit, seriously boggles my mind. I had a fucking terd loop around and graze my right ass check. Stupid George Bush, that asshole, he made it happen...and if he didn't, he knew it was going to and didn't warn me.

Sometimes I just laugh, sometimes I get damned irritated.

Well, if it wasn't for all the money pouring into Iraq, Yellowstone could afford larger rolls.

Bush still innocent on the asshole front regarding this. General Abizaid and the other croneys that knew are assholes.

Got it.

Bush and his Staff had made mistakes in the past 7 years.

There's an understatement.

But, I probably agree that Bush is innocent in a coverup of the Tillman situation. However, since the Prez is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, shit starts at the top and rolls downhill. Plus, how many people can name any other high-ranking military officials?

So ignorance is forgivable? I'm supposed to say "well, the average American is too fucking stupid to get some facts and educate themselves before pointing their scubby little fingers around, so it's not fair to blame them"?? Screw that.

And there's a big difference between him being the Commadner in Chief and being responsible, and him physically knowing and participating in a cover up. I agree 100% that he, like any CEO or other leader, is absolutely responsible for everything that occurs under his charge. I'm with that. But the media, and henceforth the stupid american, immediately says BUSH KNEW! BUSH KNEW! NEW SCANDAL FOR BUSH! NEW REASON TO HATE BUSH! Cut me a freaking break. He may have known, but there is absolutely no proof that the information ever got beyond Abizaid.

These people vote. And they scare me. They have no information, only what CNN and msnbc gives them, and they take it as solid truth. But the BIBLE is a work of fiction. Check. Got it.

A lot of people that vote scare me....and vice versa....It's worked for 200+ years to this point....but the cracks in the foundation are forming...But I hardly think it is because of a certain view....more because of self-interest is at an all-time high....and it takes precedence over checks and balances...

Ignorance is relative.

If the "average" American had to educate themselves on every issue that came up in government speak, there'd be no time for work.

I'm assuming that, as a upstanding, responsible voting citizen, you're delving into the primary literature regarding global warming (NOT the stuff from heritage, wall street journal, fox news, CNN, NY times, moveon, weekly standard, national review, MSNBC, etc) so that you can get a good idea of what the science is really saying and what is really going on in the field.

Because if not, then you're voting or deciding without all the facts...which, I believe, is a fine example of ignorance.

At least, in the way you seem to be defining it above.

Or maybe that's just me.

I refuse to accept being a liberal because (1) It would make my wife too happy, (2) I would feel obliged to vote and (3) I want to have an out if somebody pisses me off and conservatives have more general types of acceptable reasons for capping somebody's ass.

Then just be like me and Vegas and call yourself libertarian, even though on most issues, you clearly side with one party in particular.

People are uninformed (or misinformed is they watch Fox News), this is not a revelation. So, you can rant about EVERYONE or you can find a better (winnable) fight to take up.

I don't think Bush is responsible for this one. Just a myriad of other ones that have hurt this country very much.
Also, the fact that Tillman supported Kerry, was no tin favor of the war in Iraq, and even said it was illegal does make the way he was used that much more disgusting.
