…It would be plastered 24/7 on all the news networks.
A week after his 57-state remark, Obama puts himself in the wrong city.
Of course, because it’s Obama, we can forgive and forget, because he’s got so much on his mind answering our prayers, moving planets, and all that stuff.
“I’m sorry,” Obama quickly caught himself. “Sioux Falls. I’ve been in Iowa too long.” Now, that line may not go over too well in the Hawkeye State, which gave him his first big caucus win way back in January.
I’m honestly surprised Sioux Falls failed to promptly vote to change their name. Obviously the Indians…I mean the Native Americans made the mistake.
Obama went on to give yet another rousing stump speech, seeking support in the state’s primary June 3, the last one along with Montana. The Dakota crowd was enthusiastic. And the freshman Illinois senator threw in several extra references to South Dakota for good measure.
Obviously the wingnut lefties who gathered in Sioux Falls couldn’t remain indignant over the fact he disrespected their fine city because he gave such a rousing speech. It would be interesting to know how many attendees were actually from Sioux Falls, because I know that type of intro would commence in a swift booing off the stage where I’m from.
For a media who has rarely cut GWB a break from the portrayals of idiocy, they sure seem to be able to excuse Obama’s mistakes. In a country where we constantly hear about the state of our Education system (notably a Socialist incorporation), where kids lack geographical knowledge, it’s funny to listen to these people glaze over something as elementary as 50 states in our Union. Just don’t expect the NEA to take him to task on it.
